Extraordinary Capital Campaign
August, 2010
Dear Bethany family,
Can you believe that summer is making room for a new school year? I have to admit, that as summer winds down, I look with great anticipation for the excitement that fall brings to our home and church life: new classes, new sports season, and new opportunities to grow and be challenged. I can say with great confidence that September will not disappoint anyone. I believe we will see unprecedented growth in the life of Bethany Church this year. In a few weeks you will receive information on a host of opportunities that will underscore my assertion. You will want to engage in this spiritual journey.
I do want to take this opportunity to give you an update as we approach September. I am including a link to the announcements that I made during the Sunday morning services on August 15th and 22nd. In addition, I have included, in bulleted form, an overview of what is being done to reach our Phase One goals. I know the progress to date will encourage your heart. Please remember that your faithfulness to the Extraordinary Campaign and our General Fund provides the resources to fulfill our vision of seeing lives changed by the grace of God.
Recently, I received a letter that was complimentary of the work our church is doing to revive the spiritual landscape in New England. The letter ended with a closing which meant to say "God bless your work". However, it read "God bless you work". I smiled when I read the closing and thought to myself that perhaps this was an appropriate message to all of us: "God bless, you work!" May the Lord truly bless our work as we seek to take the love of Jesus to the world around us.
I love being your pastor!

Giving
Our goal is to keep you aware of the execution on our Extraordinary
vision. To launch this giving, please consider gifting a generous portion
of your Extraordinary Campaign pledge in order to accumulate the funds
needed to execute two initial areas:
- Deferred Maintenance
- The Multi-Site Platform which includes:
- Structural enhancements to the Raymond and Greenland campuses.
- Improvements to Audio, Visual, Lighting and Acoustics on both the Raymond and Greenland campuses.
- Raymond Outreach Strategy; designed to bless the local community surrounding the Raymond campus.
Your gifts to the Extraordinary Capital Campaign can be made three ways:
- Check
- Cash or Check in Pledge Envelopes
- Online eGiving.
Whichever way you choose to give, please be sure to indicate how you would
like that contribution distributed; how much toward the Bethany General
Fund and how much toward the Extraordinary Capital Campaign. This can
be done by writing a note in the memo line of the check, by filling out
the outside of the pledge envelope, or through selecting the appropriate
fund on the on-line giving screen. If no indication is made as to how you
want the contribution distributed, the contribution will be allocated
to the Bethany General Fund. Pledge envelopes will be available each
week in the pews or at the Information Center.

How often...?
How often do you slow down enough to actually look
at people's faces? To look in their eyes, and really
see who they are?
Each face tells a story, and each story represents a life, a precious creation of God. A life that, when joined with its Creator, becomes one of promise and purpose. An extraordinary life.
As a church, we collectively encounter thousands of faces, thousands of lives, every single day. Our neighbors and co-workers. Our kid's teachers and friends. People throughout...

Dear Bethany Friends:
Sally and I enthusiastically support the Extraordinary capital campaign
because we believe it will provide the necessary resources to achieve
God's plan for our church. The possibility of preaching the Gospel
message at four strategic locations by the year 2015, eliminating or
substantially reducing our onerous debt, and supporting the multi-site
effort from a...

Dear Bethany Family:
On Sunday March 7, we witnessed an outpouring of prayer that has literally left its mark on Bethany Church. A walk around the sanctuary will remind us of our commitment to pray that God would do something extraordinary in the lives of those who call Bethany their church home. Taped to the walls are names of the men and women, young and senior, who profess faith in the Lord Jesus, who are able to accomplish exceeding abundantly beyond all we can think or imagine. I am very confident that the Lord is about to move in a mighty way among us.
March 28th, Palm Sunday, is another day that I am anticipating with great enthusiasm. Why? On March 28th...
